ITC Level 3 Award in Adult Basic Life Support, Automated External Defibrillation and Management of Anaphylaxis
The ITC Level 3 Award in Adult Basic Life Support, Automated External Defibrillation and Management of Anaphylaxis (Ad BLS, AED & Ana) gives learners the skills to provide basic life support and to operate an automated external defibrillator as well as dealing with a suspected Anaphylactic emergency. Whether these skills are used in a workplace, a community organisation, within a family or as bystander prepared to act in an emergency, they are vital skills to have to help to try to save lives.
Delivery
Topics include: dealing with unresponsive adult casualties who are breathing and those who are not breathing. This includes learning how put people in the Recovery Position, how to carry out Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator, how to recognise and administer first aid for suspected Anaphylaxis, including the use of an Adrenaline Auto-injector.
Typical delivery methods are predominantly practical and the course is assessed by continual observation of learner performance.
Features
Qualification training requires:
- Minimum course contact time of 3 1/2 hours (excluding breaks).
- 1:12 assessor to learner ratio.
- Course must be completed within 3 weeks of starting.
- Each delivery session must be a minimum of 1 1/2 hours.
Successful completion will result in candidate gaining ITC Level 3 Award in Adult Basic Life Support, Automated External Defibrillation and Management of Anaphylaxis with a valid certificate lifetime of 3 years from date of course completion.
Ad BLS, AED & Ana requalification is by taking the full Ad BLS, AED & Ana qualification again.
